nasal spray:
The main purpose for nasal spray is to moisturize the nasal membrane, not to clean the nose. It’s very important to realize the main purpose of different devices to serve you better. Many sinusitis patients complained the poor benefit of nasal spray, and were surprised the comfort and easy breathing immediately after trying the Sanvic pulsatile nasal irrigator in our clinic. Nasal sprayer or moisturizer is helpful for various rhinitis and sinusitis, but it is not a nasal washer. We highly recommend you to use nasal sprayer and nasal washer together to have the best sinus care.
Nasal sprayer, nebulizer, mist generator or moisturizer basically are similar. It provides water particles instead of water stream to moisturize the nasal membrane. The quantity of water used for each spray is small, ranging from less than 1cc up to 5~10cc. Do not be bewildered by hard-to-understand medical explanations or advertisements. Try to realize by your common sense. What do you want and expect when you spray the water on the flower or fruit? Yes, to keep the moisture instead of cleaning the flower or fruit. You will not clean the fruit before eating only by spraying the fruit, you will wash it. Right? It is the same as nasal spray, you cannot expect to remove the tenacious purulent nasal discharge by only a nasal sprayer.
How many times will you spray the flower or fruit so it looks beautiful in a dry, low humidity environment? You will spray it as often as necessary, maybe 2~4 hours or even every hour to keep the moisture on the flower or fruit. That’s what we recommend for the nasal spray too. Try to spray your nose with saline as often as you want, even every hour is OK. That’s why the ideal nasal sprayer should be a small one and convenient to carry on with you, so you can spray your nose often wherever you are.
Different medical devices can generate different water particles to meet different requirement. Usually the most tiny water particle by nebulizer or mist generator entering into the bronchioles is used for asthma, bronchiolitis or pneumonia patients. The largest water particles usually are recommended to moisturize throat. The medium sized water particles are used for nasal spray.
Nasal spray is more accepted by people than nasal wash. You can use the nasal spray for young kids, even the infants. Nasal wash can be used only with elder kids who can control breathing. Though nasal wash is accepted by most adult but most users are hesitated before trying due to fear of choking. However most users find it comfortable after trying nasal wash.
nasal wash:
The main purpose of nasal wash is to utilize a larger quantity of water stream to clean the nose in addition to moisturize the nasal membrane. Nasal wash can remove nasal discharge more efficiently than nasal spray. What you will do to clean the fruit before eating? You will wash it under the running water stream instead of using a small water sprayer. Yes, it is the same as for nasal wash and nasal spray. Nasal wash can clean the nose and moisturize the nasal membrane better than the nasal spray, but it takes more time, more water with a larger device which is not so convenient to carry on. So we recommend to clean the nose by nasal wash twice per day with more frequent nasal spray to keep the nasal membrane moisture to get the best sinus care.
